I own a pit bull terrier and I got her when she wasd 2 years old. I was led 2 believe that she was fully trained but when I got her home I soon realised this was not the case. She is not a bad dog but she has a habit of pulling on the lead and jumping on people when they come to my house. She also doesn't pay attention to simple commands such as lie down or going to her bed. Can you give me some advise on resolving these issues please?

Does she only jump on people she knows when they come in the house, or is it everyone?

If it is only people she knows then you can ask those people to tell her "NO" firmly and push her back down so all 4 feet are on the ground.

If it is strangers (sales people for example) then you may need to try some puppy training classes to help get her into check.
It is hard for you to train her not to jump on people without there being any people for her to jump on!

These classes also teach your dog to be more focused on what YOU are saying...
My dog will do every command I give him while inside my own house... get him out at the dog park and he won't listen to a word I say.
I plan on doing these classes soon to train him to be more focused.

As for pulling on his lead you need to teach him the command "heel"
Heel is when the dog walks right by your side, even when given a long leash.

Do this by shortening the lead whenever he tries to pull away while saying the command "heel"
Hold the leash very short so that he is walking right by your side.
I use the technique of wrapping the excess leash around my hand as I feel it gives better control.
You can also hold the 'loop' end of the leash in one hand, and then use your opposing hand to control how short you want the leash..

Once he is walking by your side happily, let the leash out a bit...
If he goes to pull ahead again then pull in the lead and tell him 'heel' again.
