    poor patient
    Unpaid medical bills
I live abroad in South Korea where I can live for next to nothing until my career launches. I recently was flown to Florida to help with a independent film. A few days into the project I suffered twisted blood vessels in my scrotum ( you, ouch) and had to get surgery. I do not have medical insurance and am now back in Korea with over $24000 in medical bills sitting at my mothers in Michigan. My father is disabled and my mother lost her job in June. I am 28 yrs old but have no steady income and nothing to my name. Are there any resources to help me with this?

No, none of which I am aware.

If you pay nothing attempts will be made to serve you at your mother's house (which is apparently a US address for you). They will argue substitute service and you eventually will argue bad service.

While this is indeed unfortunate US citizens who have lost their health insurance are going through this same thing. Inability to pay is not a reason not to pay.

You may have to find a career or at least a job that provides a steady income in order to pay these bills and launch your career at some future time.
