    Bathtub Drain Removal
I'm trying to replace the bathtub drain. In an attempt to remove the old piece, I have tried using pliers and a pipewrench, also two screw drivers and a pipewrench as advised by a plumbing shop. I cannot find a "Dumbbell wrench" at my local rental shop, but it looks like the proper wrench may be the solution. I'm open to other methods, but will continue looking for the tool mentioned in the above lines.

    Thanks,

    Nelson

If I don't have a tub wrench handy I take a pair of pliers and stick the handles in the cross bars of the drain. Then I take a screwdriver for leverage and twist the handles counterclockwise to remove the drain. Hope this helps, Tom
