I am about to install a shower unit in my basement. I am getting conflicting advice regarding the drain. 1. there must be a trap which means hammering out the concrete below. Or 2. run the drain directly to my basement drain. Can anybody please clarify if the latter can be used as obviously it will be simpler and cheaper. My basement drain is within 2 feet of the shower bottom. Thanks Alan

Yes, This is doable. You can platform the shower and elbo over to the drain with a indirect waste. Good luck, Tom
