    Hi all:

    Hmmm... really need more info. Here...

    To figure the volume of a cylinder we multiply (pi x radius squared x height)... this is best done in feet.

    So, 3.14 x (.58ft squared) x 4.67 ft = 4.93 cubic feet

    To convert to gallons

    4.93 cubic feet x (7.48 gallons/cubic foot) = 36.89 gallons.

    For a rectangle tank, (Length (in) x height (in) x width (in)) divided by (231 cubic inches/gallon), so

    14"x14"x56" = 10976 inches cubed

    10976 inches cubed divided by 231 inches cubed/gallon = 47.52 gallons.

    A lot of assuptions here though...

    Harold... how did you figure your answer? Thanks...

    I made some kind of math error.

    3.14159 X (7 x 7 ) X 56" = 8620 cubic inches.

    8620 / 231 =37.31 gal.

    assume round tank because only circles have diameters.
    Can I go back and edit my post.
