My good friend was just picked up for misdemeanor probation violation. This is a 4 year old misdemeanor. After she was picked up it stated she had not told her prob. Officer that she moved. She had sent a letter at the time of the move because she had no working phone. She also called and her counselor called when she went to rehab. She was not hiding or trying to avoid. She has been in prison now almost 4 days.. has spoken to no one. Not her PD.. no one from Prob. Office... I would think her right to be processed would have happened within 48 hours. This is scary for her. Never been in prison. Was picked up after a minor traffic viol;ation. Any Ideas? She cannot afford a private atty.

First she is not in "prison" she will be either in a probation center or in the local jail. This is not good but not prison.

Next no 48 hours, I am laughing, this is not an arrest, it is a pick up for probation violation. If she has a PO has she not been reporting ?
But it can be a week or two before there is a hearing
