    Dishwasher does not wash
I have a kitchen aid dishwasher which is not washing the dishes. First I thought it was the timer. So I went out and bought one. Still the same problem. I checked the inlet valve and I cleaned the strainer. We checked the door switch we found an arc from a switch on the metal part of the door. We changed the switch then the water started to go into the machine. Upon examination we found that the washer is not washing the dishes. Can you help me or recommend a solution?

Tell us the details, does it fill, does it pump, does it cycle, does it drain, and does it dry. "washer is not washing the dishes. " doesn't really tell much about what's going on.

Thank you for your response. My d/w fills, it cycles, drains and dry, but I am not sure that it pumps. Also the lower spray arm does not turn.

If the arm does not turn then maybe the pump is not working. Some use the same pump motor to wash as to drain but many newer models have a second pump for draining.

Can you freely spin the arm when you open the door?
