    Media Disonnected, yet I'm Connected
I recently moved from my last place with an existing belkin wireless g

router that was working fine, now I'm at my new place where my

roommate has his own belkin wireless router that he's able to connect

on w/ WPA. I tried using his wireless ntwk on my lptp (dell), it states I'm

connected, using dhcp 192.168.2.2, yet i'm getting media disconnected.

Tried setting a static ip no luck, so I tried my router which is not

secured, same issue, pc sees the ip address. What's funny is I can

connect to the lan of both routers and directly to modem, and I can

also connect to other unsecured wireless ntwks, but the signal is low.

    I tired the following:

    1. static
    2. reset my router, not his
    3. uninstall the nic card 3x
    4. disabled the wired lan connection

And no I'm not using both wireless routers simultaneously. One is secured, the other is not, yet I can't get online thru neither, but I can connect to other wireless routers via neighbors.

I need help since I work from home:confused:

Maybe you can take your laptop, open up the lan adapter properites and compare them to your room mates. Make sure they are exactly the same then hook yours up via ethernet first and see if you can hit the internet. If that works, do the same with the wireless. That should start you down a road of troubleshooting what is up with your PC.
