    Habor breeze ceiling fan
    HI I have a harbor breeze ceiling fan and I dropped the remote and now the red light on the remote will not shut off and I can not shut off the ceiling fan light off either plase can some one help me

    Sounds like you need a remote. If you installed the fan, it may have came with a basic parts sheet, you should be able to order one from the manufacturer. If it didn't come with a parts sheet then you might be able to call the manufactuer, or the place you purchased it from to replace the remote.

    Ive never owned a remote controlled fan, but you would think there would be a way to work it without one, after all, my TV has a remote, but plenty of times my daughter has lost it, to which she gets to sit by the TV and change the channels for the rest of us as a punishment.

    Unfortunately you cannot work (most) remote controlled fans without the remote.

    However:

    1. It sounds like one of the buttons on your remote is stuck. If you can't unstick it easily, take it apart and clean the grey piece of rubber, carefully, and put everything back in place

    2. There are universal replacement remotes available at most hardware stores that should work.
