So many books to suggest. Can you help me narrow down an extremely long list by letting me know about how old you are? :)

Just make sure that any recommendations that I or anyone else gives you are okay with your parents/guardians. (The parent in me always has to add that :) )

Here are some suggestions from my own bookcases. I will admit that I tend to lean heavily towards older works. Probably ancient works for you.

There are of course the classics:

    J. R. R. Tolkien's Lord of the Ring series including The Hobbit
    L. Frank Baum's Wizard of Oz series

Then there are the books that have been made into movies:

The Last Unicorn by Peter S. Beagle
The Indian in the Cupboard by Lynne Reid Banks
    Watership Down by Richard Adams

    Other books/series:

The Pig, The Prince and The Unicorn and its sequel Demon Pig by Karen Brush
    Redwall by Brian Jacques
Rowan of Rin by Emily Rodda
The Diadem Series by John Peel

Then there are the Authors that just have too many good books to name them all:

    Clifford D. Simak
    Anne McCaffery
    Andre Norton
    Jane Yolen

Your welcome. I hope you enjoy them.

One other author that I forgot to add is Patricia C. Wrede. Dealing With Dragons (aka: Dragonsbane) and its sequels are a lot of fun.

I love the Brother Cadfael Series by Ellis Peters.

A bit dated but still fun are the old Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books.

My husband recommends The Naked Sun by Isaac Asimov. He also has a collection of short mysteries that are fun to read.

If you like solving them, Two Minute Mysteries are great. They are by Donald Sobol, the man who wrote Encyclopedia Brown. The Two Minute Mysteries are for older teens and adults.
