    TERRIBLE doggie breath
I have two border collies. There breath could knock someone over. I brush there teeth, give them rawhide bones, and even buy breath treats nothing seems to work. There teeth are clean no plaque build up. I just don't know what to do to make there breath smell better. Anyone have idea's on what I cab try or do. Please its terrible!!

What food do you use? The only time I've heard of tooth cleaning not working was when the pup was eating only canned food and needed a tongue brush.

Are you sure there is no tartar? A lot of people that brush their dogs teeth miss the teeth waaay back there.

If you are positive his teeth are clean (even at the back)
Then try adding a little parsley to his food, parsley is great for freshening their breath.

I would also avoid rawhide treats, they should be banned in my opinion, if the dog eats them too quickly they can form a ball in the dogs stomach causing blockages.
Stick with things like crunchy bones or the safer dental sticks from your pet store.
Some of th dental sticks also have parsley flakes in them which are great.

The only thing I can think of is something is rotting inside some where. My older dogs breath got that way because of an infection in his mouth (I believe it was a tooth rotting) my vet gave him an antibiotic and the killer breath went away.:)

    Both dogs have bad breath?

    They could both have infections.

Is this a new development such as the last couple of months or has it been a problem for a lot longer?

If it is a new development and you have ruled out other causes, have you had any changes that might make you more sensitive to their breath?

    I use dry food only.
