Has anyone ever heard of Prism Resolutions Collection Agency? THANKS
No, but I just tried doing a search on it and it didn't show up anywhere. I tried it several different ways and wasn't able to find a thing. That in itself makes me a bit suspicious. At the very least, it appears they have no website.
They have contacted me saying I owe them money, even though I have no deliquent accounts on my credit report. They sent me info via e-mail, not even registered mail, their company letter head has the same number for their fax and their phone number, I also could not enter their supposed website, if you call their number they answer the phone hello, not hi, this is prism resolutions. Sounds like a company that buys info for debts that have already been resolved and tries to scare you into giving them money. If they tell you that they are collecting on a debt tell them you want a validation of debt sent to you in the mail. If you look up validation of debt on the web it gives you all the info the debt collector needs to provide if it is legit.
I got a call from them. Did the email they sent you include a mailing address or any contact information?
I don't know this company but there are many who will try to bill anyone with similar names to see if they will be scared into payig
No it did not, I told them to send me a validation of debt so if I actaully recive a letter from them I will post the address, I tried to find info on this company and there is nothing, they are not in the BBB files, I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade commission, I would advise that all others do the same, they have our personal info and this seems like a big scam, after trying to find them on the interenet I saw a company called monarch resolutions that was doing the same thing, they are from the same town, there were complaints filed against them, so I am thinking it may be the same people who just changed the name, they are both from North Tonawanda, New York.
I'm pretty sure, under federal law, they are required to provide a physical address.
Since this is NY state, I would forward these e-mails to the AG's office. Andrew Cuomo is cracking down very hard on collectors like this. So they will want this info. You can start at the AG's website for how to submit the info.
OK so I just had them call my parents house (and I never give out that number to anyone for any reason) yet they found the number. I called the number back and they answered with hello when I asked to be connected to the ext. the guy that answered the phone asked me my name and then my case number all before supposedly transferring me. We got disconnected and when I called back this lady answered the phone telling me I had to pay close to 900$ for an account that I never had with a bank that Ive never used. And when she would say something and I would correct her cause I know the laws of WA state she got all pissy and then said that I was being recorded so I hung up. The catch is that when they called my parents house and my mom asked what it was in regards to they told her I was about to be sued. OK sorry but any collection agency that's actually legit doesn't give out any kind of information. They aren't legit and their trying to scam as many people as possible. They didn't even call me back after I hung up so I know for a fact that they aren't who they say they are!
