    I guess you mean

Next time, type the symbols as they have to be.

    Hello Sha,
By looking at the charge of each element, we can say
    KIO3 + H2O... >? Gose as..
    K{+} I{-} O{-}3 + H{+} OH{-}... >KOH "Potassium hydroxide" + HIO3"iodic acid"

    Advice:
From now and then, when you stuck on reactions complement. First of all,
look at the atom charge to figuer out how will equation be?

! remember, this way won't work for all equations.

    I hope its help.
    Bonne Chance ;)

Ok, if that is what you are asking for, then I'll say that there is no chemical reaction involved. The KIO3 only dissolves, that is, the ions in the salt dissociates into ions.

I must say that the previous post is not very correct. If you look at his/her equation, you'll see that the products are Potassium hydroxide and Iodic acid. What do you know about acids and alkalis? Answer: They react together forming a salt and water. Hence these products cannot be formed for they will react together immediately.

If it'll dissociates into ions could u please tell me will it dissociate into K+ and IO3- or gives I3(-)(tri iodide ion).

The ions are potassium ion, and iodate ion

Also, the oxidation number of Iodine in is +7.

Merci beaucoup pour ta traduction. Ça alors! Chimie est mon préférée sujet. Mais non, je suis débutante en chimie. Quel dommage!

En ce maintenant, J'ai des informations apprendre à conduire.
    Je suis désolée.
    À bientôt
