How is a vent study done?
I have COPD and the Dr. wants me to have a vent study done. What should I expect, and are any disadvantages to doing it?

Laura, this is a non invasive study called endobronchial valve procedure whereby a vent is placed in your lung, non surgically to determine how much air you are taking in and exhaling. If you have COPD I would think this would be a procedure that you would want to have improve your quality of life. There are no disadvantages, Laura. I believe your doctor should have a video available explaining this procedure which would be beneficial for you to watch.
