    Greek Citizenship
My mother is an American and my father is a Greek citizen. However, my parents were not married and before my birth my father went back to Greece. He is, however, on my birth certificate.

If I could get his documents and prove he's a Greek citizen, could I apply for Greek citizenship? Would the fact that my parents weren't married get in the way? I've read that marriage certificates are some of the documents you're asked to provide. Any exceptions?

    Thanks so much.

You should be able to get Greek citizenship. Contact the greek consulate at greekembassy.org. They will be able to clarify the requirements.
