    Shower head and arm replacement
I want to replace a Moen shower head and arm with a new Toto unit and arm. When I removed the original arm I was left looking at a nylon type fitting with a copper pipe coming through the middle. Am I to assume (?) that this pipe must be unscrewed as well?

    Hi Bmonz:

I suspect that you will definitely need to remove all this back to the threaded drop ear elbow behind the wall... see images below (copper type and pex type included).

I am unclear on your description, but I am not unclear on how shower arms get installed... ;) Remove anything forward of the wall and get to the drop ear elbow in the wall. Wrap teflon tape around the threads of the new arm and you should be all set to go.

If you are still unsure then post a picture to this page and I'll let you know what I think.
