Answer this my husband is getting ssdi and his child support case has been closed for almost 3 months on he has my two children which is drawing off his ssdi and third child is also getting a check all three of them got back pay of his ssdi when got it but on they say he owe over 9,000 is back child support for his older child which got over 6,000 back for his ssdi so how do he owe back child support also when the older child also get 124 a month.:confused:

Because the SSD that he is receiving isn't child support. It came from the government as a benefit. The government isn't responsible for paying his child support. Has he been to court to have it lowered ?

Because when he was awarded SSDI the judge terminated the current support. However, any back support is still owed, it isn't the job of the government to pay back support. He will continue to owe the back support until it is paid off.

His child support case has been closed and the courts in South Carolina told him he do not owe it since his son was going to be drawing off his disablity.:(
