    Water heater elec. Usage
Do you think that I am causing my 80 gal. elec. Watet heater to run a lot because I have a circ. Pump and loop on the hot side. I know that the Grunfos pump energy use is minimul but I wondered if I am kicking the elements off and on a lot. The houes is new and the water lines are pex and run between my floor josts and are insulated by fiberglass under them. In a conditioned air space. I am trying to get my elec. Bill down.

    Thanks!

No. Probably cost you more to not have the recirculation line. Waste a lot of water waiting for hot water to get to the faucet. Then waste a lot of heat as the hot water in the pipe cools down after you turn the faucet off.

    And your wife will complain.
