Installing a new double pole electrical thermostat
I am in the process of installing a new electrical thermostat for baseboard heaters. There are 2 white and 2 black wires on the current box. The new thermostat has 2 red wires and 2 blacks. Can anyone tell me which ones connect to which?
    Thanks for your assitance

The instructions are pretty clear on this.

Usually the two reds are the 240v LINE in and the two blacks are the LOAD out.

You need to CAREFULLY test for power to see which black and white cable is the live one.

    What brand is the t-stat?

Reds are line and blacks are load.

DO you have a tester, or voltmeter to check your wiring?
