Honda Civic 1998 LX starter won't work
I have just acquired a 1998 Honda Civic and the starter has failed. Am able to bump start car (manual) and it runs OK. When I turn key to start nothing happens, dash lights stay on but radio/heater lights dim. Hear fuel pump run. No cranking, or clicking of solenoid. Checked connections and battery and all seem OK. Checked voltage at solenoid, main feed OK, but control signal does not appear to change. I would expect this to go to 12V when I try to crank engine but nothing. Suspect it may be an ignition switch problem. Any other ideas to isolate problem? Many thanks

Ah ha, just answered my own question. While looking up parts (ie switches) I found a clutch switch for this car... and realised that you had to depress clutch to start car;)
