Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I have no idea where to put this.
I started my first job at 15 in October 2007. (I was just about to turn 16, so had my NI number) I worked there for just under a year and finished in September 2008. When I finished there I got a P45. I have not worked since then.
I am due to start a new job in the next 2 weeks and they have asked if I have a P45, the problem is I can't find it anywhere.
What do I do?
I have tried reading up on it and have read so many different thing such as "it doesn't matter" , "just fill out a P46", something about the deadline being from April to April?
I was just wondering if some kind person could just put me staright and give me advice on where to go from here, do I have to find it or is it all right?
