How do you test a mass air flow sensor on a 1997 caddy catara

These are extremely sensitive sensors. I'm not aware of any way to test them. However, you can use CRC's MAF Sensor Cleaner to clean them, if a code has been thrown. Some people even clean them every time they change their air filter. Because of their sensitivity, stay away from oil-impregnated air cleaners. This link may help:
