My mother has intense rage issues which I can no longer live with. She has driven me to the point of wanting to committ suicide, and I desperately want to escape from her. How can I get emancipated? I'm seventeen, and my boyrfriend (18) and his family have already accepted me into their home if I need a place to live. I cannot live with my mother any longer, or it will surely lead to my suicide.

How much longer until your 18 and what state are we talking about here ? In some states there are no emancipation laws.

I will be 18 in approx. 6 months, and I live in Georgia.

Quite frankly your almost 18 and by the time they could process emancipation orders which also include proving yourself you would be 18 already. At this point its mostly hurry and wait for your situation since its so close. Good Luck.

Not going to happen. Sorry, but by the time you can prove yourself to be completely independent (not with boyfriends family) in every way that the law requires and get to your final court dates you will already be 18. Try to tough it out or if you mom will let you move in with your boyfriends family.
