    No, I don't believe this is true. Mites live on blood and they aren't selective.

    Normally if mites are present and feeding on humans they will feed on any human they come in contact with. Individual sensitivity is more often associated with allergens, such as mold spores. Dry skin can also develop a rash that looks like bites. If you can find the mites try catching them on clear tape and having them identified.
