Pilot light on gas fireplace stays lit for 5-7 days
    Hello

Your help is greatly appreciated, here is my issue.

I have a natural gas fireplace, the pilot light worked fine, the fireplace wouldn't light up unless I tapped on the gas valve.

I had a heating and plumbing company come in ( 6 times and $750 later) I think they replaced every friggin component. Now the pilot light will only stay on 4-7 days, when it is lit the thermostat triggers the valve and fires up just fine.

These guys can't find the problem, even though I didn't have the pilot light problem before.

The gas valve, thermocouple, generator and some other stuff has been replaced. The pilot lite gas tube has been cleaned.

Any ideas what could be wrong? I am thinking that a replaced component is not compatible.

Sounds to me like the gas valve was the original problem OR a bad ground. Since I am not there and with all the parts that have been replaced I cannot be of much help.

Have you had high winds in your area? Does the vent exit through a wall or through the roof? You said the gas valve and the thermopile were replaced, were gas pressures checked at inlet and outlet of gas valve?
