Upstairs closets and bathroom lights suddenly quit working
I turned on my bedroom closet light and the bulb burned out. No big deal. I replace it and it does NOT come on. Also, the other closet light won't work nor will the bathroom lights that are right next to our bedroom. All the outlets still work. No breaker has flipped. I'm thinking all three overhead lights are wired together. Any ideas as to what might be wrong? Thanks... Michael

If you have any GFI outlets check to in sure that they are not tripped.

There are no GFI outlets. Would that affect ceiling lights?

All depends on how things are wired. Have you checked breakers? It can be hard to tell if a breaker is tripped sometimes. Turn off then back on to be sure.

Agree, push everybreaker toward the ON position, if any have movement turn completely OFF and then back ON

I checked all the breakers and still no lights. Thanks for your replies. It is odd that these three overhead lights are the only things not working.

If you had a voltage sensor you could test to see if you lost your power feed or if it's the neutral. Do you have a ground wire I the fixture box, if so test between ground and black for power with the switches on.

Next step. Check to see if there is anything else not working. Pull one of the switches. See if the wires are under the screws on the side or plugged into the little holes in the back.

I have the same problem, 3 bedroom lights don't work and the breaker has been reset. I'm at my wits end here. Did anyone find the solution to the original question?

Did anyone find out why the bathroom and closet lights stop working? I have the same problem.

Had the same issue. Ensure that non of your wires are on the ground of the switch. Once I fixed that on the bedroom switch then both the closet and bathroom lights worked.

Whenever you have multiple lights that all of a sudden don't go off, you have lost either the power feed or the neutral, usually in a ceiling junction box. They don't series a light. It may be in a fixture box but it will still be as noted above.
