Switch/Circuit board switch trips with Dehumidifier in basement
    Hi,
I have whirlpool gold dehumidifier of 40 pint, running in basement for last 4 years, all of sudden it stopped working, when I checked it tripped the circuit board switch. I tried re-setting switch and plugged in the dehumidifier, it runs for 3 seconds and again switch trips. I tried in different plug (different circuit line), it tripped GFI siwtch. I am not sure what to do. Please let me know what to do to fix the problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Chandra

Most likely a defective dehumidifier. Since it tripped both the GFI and the circuit breaker you most likely have some kind of short in the motor.
