Splice into a transfer switch? So basically this 30 amps from the pole is running underground 2 run 2 well pumps, the reason the wire is so big is because of the distance now I need to put in a transfer switch in case the power goes out, what would you recommend the lugs are way to small for this so I need to either replace the lugs or splice the wire from 1200 kcmills to 10 or 8 awg wire... what else are my options

Don't start the post in the title and continue into the body. Again, that makes it hard to get.

Also, try to describe the situation a little better.
What size wire is going to the well?
Replace WHAT lugs??
What is one the pole? A meter? Panel?
Where will the transfer switch go?

I see from your other posts that you say you are an electrician. WHY are you coming to a do-it-yourself message board asking how to do your job??

Don't you have a supervisor/foreman that can guide you? Four years is NOT nearly enough to be working completely on your own.

You can splice a short piece of wire to allow connecting. Size breaker according to the small wire.

I thought it was just early, why 1200 Kcmil was not registering, It handles 6000 Amps(aluminum). If these are small pumps, this could be a very long run(very Expensive)
Motor Loads? Distance, Voltage?

I'm asking tomorrow.. haha 4 years is plenty of time to do jobs, you do realize everything I do is inspected right ? I've never failed because I do ask questions and pick peoples brains! I have made over 50.000 on the side :)

Well no problem, We know you don't have an hour, but in 5 minutes, can you "guess" the pump size, and estimate the distance in Football fields?
And we DO realize, everything you do gets inspected.

Still can't grasp the idea that punctuation and capitalization are is part of the written language and are necessary for the reader to understand you. Don't know proper punctuation do you? An exclamation point is not a period or a question mark. Don't read what you write do you? You are just lazy, you want the reader to figure out what you are saying.

You can't keep your BS straight can you? You have four years experience, yet you are making first year wages. I'd be willing to bet that on the job, you don't listen very well either. You know a little, but don't understand what you know.

We ALL Just wanted to know, Length of run, motor size and volts? That's why they likely called you a hack. No License, and won't listen to Liscensed/Qualified people.
I didn't go to Electrical School.
