Hot shower and no or little cold water
I read your answer on this subject that you have already posted. I already sprayed WD40 and vinegar to remove any blockages and ran the water through but still the cold water does not flower properly through the, whatever that thing is between the screw on cold water valve and the control with a compressor 5/16 cap on:confused:

My kids have been showering with hot water and scalding their skin. Heellllppp!

I need the brand name of the valve and its approximate age before I can help. Is it one handled or two knobs? Back to you, Tom

There is no visible mark of a brand name. The house was built in 1988. The cold water side between the source and the pipe outlet is sort of a pressure box and a pressure cylinder with a removable 5/18 compressor cap. When I remove the cap and open the cold water valve with a flat screwdriver the water sprays out of the sides of the silver cylinder within the pressure cylinder pipe. (I am still puzzled by the mechanics of this pressure pipe and box.)

One thing that worked for me which enabled the cold water to pass through the spout with good amount of water was when I returned the compressor cap I screwed it back on ligthly. The only problem is with the pressure so high it starts to push the rubber washer out to the side and starts to spray water. When I tighten it I am back with very minimal water flow.

Thanks for your patience. It seems like I am an inch away from repairing but then again I am not.

Oh, sorry this 2baplumber again and I forgot to say that it is a one handled knob for tub spout and shower.
