How are you online right now? And what wireless network are you using? Laptops, desktops? Modems, routers?
Too many unanswered questions to give you reliable help.
The wireless connection just indicates how well your computer is 'connected' to the wireless.
Do you have a house alarm?
We had the same problem and because our house alarm was running off our phone line (we have buttons on the alarm that call police/fire/ambulance) it was messing with the signal.
We had to buy a filter to put on the phone line that separated the phone from the alarm.
Shaz, on some computers, it says "wireless network connections" above where it lists all possible connections. That, and some people misuse terms.
I assumed that the OP was referring to signal strength, but you could still be right.
In that case, any item that is not a phone that hooks up to the phone line could be interfering, so that is a good possibility.
Still, we need more information before we could help the OP.
