May a parolee travel on US Passport?
My friend is a singer wo served time for using drugs. He has been clean while on parole. He has an offer to do a show in Canada. His parole officer told him he thinks the Department of Homeland Security would prohibit his travel. Does he not have a right to work? Can he travel if he has a clean parole record?

Canada will not allow him to enter if he has a felony conviction in the US within the past 10 years.

If you use the search feature above you will see that I have used the exact citation when previously asked this question.

    Hello O:

He can travel IF he has permission. His record has NOTHING to do with it...

But, Judy is right. Canada isn't going to let him in.

He will be stopped at the Canadian border regardless if he has permission or not. His "right to work" has nothing to do with it. His criminal record overrides this.
