    Can't get Internet Explorer
I have Internet Explorer (on my desktop) and I cannot get on to it at all. When I hit the icon to go into it, it comes up to the homepage for a split second then it shuts right off, just disappears. My son is running Mazilla Firefox on his user account and it works fine but I can not get Internet Explorer to run on mine, obviously there is an internet connection, I am also on the Internet on my laptop right now. My desktop has Windows XP Home Edition. I think something is wrong in the setup of Explorer but I can't get to it to see what is wrong. Can someone please help me, I am not having much luck with my computers lately. I tried everything. I tried to reset it and that did not work.

    Thank you

Since it starts, lets try this first. Click start, then open your control panel. Select "internet options" and then when it opens up select "delete." Find "delete all" and choose that. It will then ask are you sure and give you the option to delete items stored by add ons. Select yes. It may take a minute or two for this to finish.

Hopefully all that's the matter is that something in your temporary internet files is affecting the browser. It does happen.

Give it a try and let us know. You have already rebooted too?

Sorry if you know this. Figured I'd make it simple for anyone else.

First restart. It could be as simple as that. (Or try Shut Down, and wait 5 minutes before powering on)

    Then, clear history.
Here's an easier method for doing what medic-dan said. (since some people find the control panel hard to navigate)

    Open Internet Explorer.
Find [Tools] at the right, click the drop down arrow, then the bottom option, Internet Options.
Then, select [delete] and [delete all] under browsing history.

Try running Mozilla Firefox, to see if your account has been corrupted, or is there some reason you can't put it under you also?
