The police gave you the wrong information? Do you have the other driver's name and phone number - perhaps just call them and ask.

Or file the claim with your insurance company and they may be able to locate the info based on the driver's info. The claims rep should be able to track down the info with the license info.

Get a copy of the police report, ( written copy) it should have the info as property given to the police
