Briggs 17 h p twin II pumping gas out top of carb.
We have a briggs 17 h p twin II model # 42a707 type # 2653 e1 code # 9907305a the problem is gas coming out of top of carb. Not center of carb. But small holes around top of carb. Cleaned carb, all looks well on inside, needle and seat look fine, float seems fine and had no liquid in it. Looking for any help I can get THANK YOU

    Hi,
Something is going on that does allow the float/needle combo to shut off fuel flow. The fuel is coming out the bowl vent, which is necessary to make the carb work. Should probably be coming out of the slanted brass tube in the throat of the carb at a rate more than normal too.
My guess is a piece of trash caught (and missed) in the seat.
    Peace,
    Clarke
