When we turn the diverter valve on the water trickles(at best) from the shower and continues to come out the tub faucet. We have replaced the diverterand still have the problem. Any ideas??

Is the diverter on the tub spout, or on the shower valve itself? Has this always been a problem or did it just start recently?

The diverter is on the shower wall. It has been a problem for a while now

Remove the shower head and try it, is the water coming out of the shower arm if it does then you have problem with the shower head, clean or replace it, good luck.
