Missed placebo week on pill but now I've been on perido for almost 3 weeks
Hi, I've been on the pill for a good 6 months now and I went on holiday not long ago and decided to miss my placebo week so I wouldn't have a period - but I did, and I have been on for 3 weeks now, I'm still taking the pill and haven't stopped since I've been on my period. I thought if I kept taking it my period would stop. Any advice on what I should do? I'm getting pretty agrivated with how long I've been on for. I've never had a period this long.
    :(

I would suggest you stop taking the active pills until your bleeding stops.

Once it has stopped you can start taking them again.

I used to quite often miss taking the placebo pills to avoid my period, sometimes it would work, other times it would not, especially if I did it twice in a row.

Obviously for you, instead of just skipping it, it threw your cycle out of whack.

Is it heavy bleeding or more like spotting?
If you are still bleeding a week after you stop taking the active pills you will need to go to your doctor.

Ah okay, I just presumed it would be better to keep taking them and that it'd eventually stop if I kept taking them.

It's not heavy at all, just spotting. But it keeps changing like I'm coming off then the next day I'll just bleed again >>.
    Annoying.

Yeah I know how you feel... I ended up switching to a different birth control because I was having problems with that.

For me stopping taking it helped, you will get your "proper" period once you stop taking them but then once that has cycled through the bleeding should stop.

Just remember, no unprotected sex until 2 weeks after you start taking them again though ;)
