We just purchased a Kenmore Elite Ultra Wash dishwasher (655.77962) to replace an old Maytag. There is no "air dry" option as such -- just a toggle "heated dry". With the heated dry off and using Smart Wash, after about 2 hrs the last rinse drains, there is a long absolutely silent pause (10 minutes? ) and then the progress display LED's go from "wash" to "clean", skipping "drying". We expected as on our old machine to hear and feel the blower pushing out the moist air through the vent --- no boosted heat since heated dry is off, but an active drying cycle nonetheless. Question: Does the machine have no blower? And if this is the case, where is the water vapour to go -- whether heated dry or not? Since the machine has very long cycles, we cannot always be available to open the door for passive air drying while still hot. The old Maytag, for all its problems, at least wooshed out the hot moist air. Thanks
