How do I uninstall Yahoo Messenger when Add/Remove can't?

Add/Remove Software can't uninstall Yahoo messenger? Well, that's another good reason I don't want to use it.

There might be something in particular about Yahoo messenger that someone else knows, and hopefully they'll be along soon. In the meantime you can check to see if Yahoo itself has an uninstaller.

First try looking for it in Programs under the start menu. Sometimes an uninstaller will be in there. Like if you see Yahoo Messenger listed and it has a little arrow next to it, that means there's more menu options for it. One of them might be an uninstall. If you see that, just click on it and go with it.

You can also try looking in the folder containing the program. This means using either Explorer (right click the start menu) or My Computer to get into the folder. If you let everything do default installs it should be on your C drive. (If you install stuff any place else I'll assume you know that and know where it is and how to get there.) Find the folder, presumably under Yahoo. Look in the folder and see if you find anything with "uninstall" on it, or you might only see the first few letters. Sometimes even the "install" one has an option in it to repair or remove.

There might be some issue with Yahoo I'm unaware of and an easier way to do this. But in the meantime you can try one of these options.
