Objective... 1) get jpeg's off HDD to CD 2) change OS from Win ME to Win 98 by formatting HD.
- My daughter's PC, can't believe IBM 20 gig with no way to burn a CD. Has only a CD ROM - I installed an internal CD/RW - both drives are connected.
:-/ New CD drive will read and write from NERO but I can't drag and drop from Windows Explorer to CD Drive - error message "no disk in drive".
- Using NERO software, (never used Nero) - tried twice changing all drop down arrows to "Jpeg" format - Nero writes .dat file extension in burning operation.
NOW OS:
- Getting on Internet is a trick, server says it's OS problem. - Tried to restore OS using recovery disk - inserted and I boot up - doesn't work - I go straight to the desktop. (again not seeing the CD drive and I tried both CD drives)
- Installed all updates for Win ME. Still cannot recover and no change getting on internet.
Tried booting up in safe mode, gives me the help menu - dumb. Cannot get to the Bios either. Would it help to go to DOS and format the HD? (after pics removed)
What am I not seeing here? Going in circles.
How do I get the CD drive to work (at least drag and drop) and change her OS?
