HI All,

I'm a US Green Card holder. I am staying outside US for more than 6 months but plan to get back within 1 year. Before leaving US, I DID NOT apply for re-entry permit as I did not intend to stay outside US for this long. Can anyboy tell me what legal steps I need to take for entring US again.

As I understand, Rentry permit is for people staying outside US for more than 1 year. Returning Resident Visa is also for the same case. Correct me if I am wrong.

You should have re-entry permit even you're leaving less than a year.

Try coming back after 10 months without re-entry permit and tell us what happen!!
