Is it possible to show signs of pregnancy immediately?
    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if it is possible to show signs of pregancy almost immediately. My husband and I had sex Friday night, ( it is now Monday for me) I was having a lot of the jelly discharge a few days ago and now it has changed to a creamy consistency. I also have a slight cramping feeling on the left side and have woken this morning with a headache. Sorry to be so long winded but it would be much apprciated if anyone had any ideas or comments.

No, you cannot feel signs of pregnancy immediately.

During a woman's cycle, cervical mucus changes frequently. One "common" cycle is: Period - Dry - Creamy - Eggwhite/Watery - Sticky - Period.

That being said, not every woman sees the same types of fluid. Eggwhite/watery is considered fertile.

Once an egg is fertilized (up to 5 days after sex) it takes another 7 - 10 days to float down into your uterus to implant. A few days after that (around the time your period is due - or later) the egg will produce enough hormones for a HPT to detect the pregnancy. That's when women usually start feeling symptoms. - some sooner, but only by a few days. In short, your body doesn't really start responding to pregnancy until the egg implants.

The first syptoms I felt were around 5 weeks pregnant. So, a week after my period was due and I had already had 3 positive tests.

Thank you for your response it was very helpful. I guess I am just impatient and want to know. I knew I was the minute I conceived last time and I kind of have that feeling now... the woman's intuition. I am 37 and have been told that the older you get the harder it is to fall pregnant. I don't know how true that is but I do know that a woman releases more eggs the older she gets. I have two year old twins so I did a little research to see how they came about.

People do say that a woman sometimes knows when they get pregnant but it is to early to tell yet. The discharge you may be experiencing may be the remainder of your partners sperm leaving your body as medics say that sperm stays inside you for up to 72 hours and obviously what goes up has to come down (sorry to be so graphic) x
