I was court order to pay child support on my son until he was 18 years old. He is now 22 and I have the need to stop the payments that are being taken from my check. There is no back support owed and I have paid it for 4 years that I did not have to pay. His mother refuses to file the paper work in court to have it stopped. Can I petition the court myself or is there another way.

Yes you can file anytime. Also if your dealing with an agency you need to make them aware of his age and what your doing. In many cases the agency should also assist you. It can vary by state so be ready to file on your own either way.
