How much should you feed a puppy?
Hi shaz, or anyone else that can advise me on this matter.

I have a 13 week old Shih Tzu and I'm a bit confused how much I should feed her? I feed her wet food in the morning only quarter of a tin, and then dried food midday, then another quarter of a tin of wet food in the evening. Is this the right amount of food? She's not begging for food, but she does go to the kitchen sometimes and look up, as if to say, where's my dinner lol. Should I increase the amount of food as she is getting older, I have been giving her a quarter of a tin of wet food since we got her at 9 weeks. I also want to wean her off the wet food, how do I go about this also?

    Thanks :)

It sounds pretty good to me what you are feeding.

To wean her off the wet food just try mixing some of the dry food in with one of the meals, or you could try just putting a little wet food on top of the dry (or vice versa) and gradually cut out the wet altogether.

You can still give both if you like, they do need dry food to keep their teeth healthy but mine get wet food as well, they just like the taste better.
    Entirely personal preference.

You can up her food intake soon and cut out the midday meal.
Mine get one larger meal at night and just a light breakfast, but again, that is just personal preference.

Just watch her weight, it's hard to give an exact amount to feed because just like people their metabolisms differ.
I have a poodle who barely eats anything and she is a fat little piggy haha but I have another one who eats like a horse and is always on the thin side.
