    Shower door and tile installation
I am tiling a bathtub/shower alcove and plan to put a shower door up. Should I install the door and tile right up to it and caulk OR should I tiled past where the door will go and put the door on top? Thank you!

The tile is put up first for waterproofing purposes, then the door installed through the tile.

Tile is installed past the point where the door will be installed. Tile around a tub is usually installed to the edge of the tub and then a 2" wide bull nose trim piece is used, going to the floor. Snap a plumb line from the bottom of the tub up the wall. Tile on the tub side, trim on the other. Note that the front or skirt of the tub is not always plumb so set line at the floor. Leave enough room for grout and caulking.
