    My friend needs a dog
    Alty or Shaz...
My friend Vicki wants a poodle, she is in love with my Bingo (I have to watch her carefully when she leaves)
I think I convinced her not to buy a $500.00 one from the paper (which I have learned is back yard breeders) I told her that you guys might be able to help her find one from a shelter.

She is just looking for a small dog around 10 lbs, but under 20 lbs and she lives in the Sacramento, CA USA area.
She is mainly concerned about the non shedding part, so I'm sure a mix would be OK.

She has right now a very elderly large dog (Nisa) and is worried that she won't be around much longer. She also has a cat that goes in and out.

Hopefully you can help her find one or at least point me in the right direction, because I really don't know anything about finding one. If you can't, I'll let her know that she has to buy from a shelter or a rescue. Right?

And I'll keep searching her before she leaves my home.:D

    Alty

    Hi Dahlia.

Here are a few links I found that might lead her in the right direction.

Poodle Rescue and Adoption- Adopt a Poodle Near You

NorCal Poodle Rescue Our Friends Page www.norcalpoodlerescue.net

Small Dog Rescue.Org small breed dog rescue and adoption in Chico, CA, Redding, Sacramento, Butte County

Sadly I'm not familiar with CA so I don't know how close any of these rescues are to your friend.

There are more. Just Google "Sacramento poodle rescue". :)

I hope she finds what she's looking for.

If not, I'll do some more research. :)

Plus, besides the SPCA, PetSmart offers "pound" dogs and cats pretty much for the price of their shots and neutering.

I don't work for them! I was in playing with the animals one day and asked them where they come from (influenced by you all on this topic).

Edit: you can search by breed, zip code, and more at http://adoptions.petsmart.com/
