    York quits cooling
I have a 3 yr old york unit which quits on hot days and doesn't kick back on , the hvac company has replaced the fan on the outside condenser unit but it still shuts off I looked at the outside coil but it didn't look dirty but I still cleaned it with a water hose anyhow Any suggestions also I took the panel off and the green led was blinking 5 times which I think meant high discharge temp help!

High discharge temp means that the outside unit is not doing its job in turning the hot gas back into a liquid. Many items can cause this problem.

Wrong fan blade on the outside unit

Wrong motor on the outside unit i.e. to small a horse power

Motor turning in the wrong direction. Usually blowing upward to remove the heat.

Dirty coils. NOTE you have to back wash the coils NOT spray from the outside in.

    Too much refrigerant. Overcharged unit.

Improper or defective metering device on inside coil.

It would be a smart move to take a Amprobe and see how much current draw there is on the fan motor on the outside unit.

Sounds like you have a bad TXV. The pressures will only go higher in the heat of the day, causing the high pressure switch to trip. If the company that installed the new motor got the rotation backwards it would give the same symptom.
