I have a dilemma my father is on my birth certificate but I legally have my mothers last name but now I would like to keep my last name as is and add my fathers as well. How do I go about this

First off how old are you ? We need to know to give you an answer.

You would go to court and petition for a legal name change. Since you want to keep the one you have and just add to it like with a hyphen then it's a fairly simple process. The main thing they will be questioning is if you were doing it to defraud etc. But you have a legitimate reason so it should be smooth sailing. Good Luck.
