I can't seem to lose weight
I am so frustrated and depressed. I have been trying for three months to loose weight. I have myself, my mother, and my twin 15-year-old daughters on the same diet and exercize. My mom has lost 20 pounds, and one of my twins has lost 24 pounds and the other one has lost 32 pounds. I on the other hand have gained five pounds. If we are doing the same thing why are they all losing but I have gained. I am sure that when that scale hits 300 I am going to spiral into a severe depression and that is only five pounds away! PLEASE HELP!! :(

Losing weight is a lot mind set, topped up with motivation, and anyway, your metabolism may be different from the rest. If you can, hire a personal trainer and get out of the house to do it. As soon as you start losing you will be completely motivated and happy enough to continue with the rest of your weight loss.

I appreciate the suggestion. I cannot afford a personal trainer... wish I could but we are barely making ends meet now. My girls and I walk an hour to two every day and I spend thirty minutes to an hour on my gazelle before I go to bed. I haven't lost weight but my endurance is much better

Hello! I went into a Rheumatologist as suggested by my family doc because my Vitamin D was soooo low. It was 12, and should be btwn. 50 and 75.
Rheumy wanted me to start taking Vit. D and Magnesium for three monthes and come back in after doing that and losing weight. My diet was stop eating salt, cheese and grain; all grain. Also spend 20 minutes a day in the sun, everyday.

I did exactly as he said, and lost 22 lbs. without exercises. My Vit. D number was 78 also. The magnesium took the place of the fiber, so I could go to the bathroom regularly.

Hope this helps everyone! I was very pleased with his method, but have since added exercise on my treadmill at least three times a week and senior yoga classes along with an exercise ball.

You know sometimes it takes a little longer for some than others to lose. Have you measured yourself since you began to walk or diet? Maybe if you weigh and measure only once a week, first thing in the a.m. in the nude; if the lbs. don't come off the inches will. :) Good luck and let us know how you are doing. God Bless!

    mshathaway,

Thank you so much! I have tried so many things along with eliminating salt, sugar, and changed milk to 1%. I will give it a shot.

Hi just wondering if you've been to your doctor to get your thyroid checked I know my friend found out she had an under active throid and after she started treatment the weight fell off. If you honestly have done everything the same as your other family members I would see if there is a medical reason. Good luck with the weight loss

Ya actually I have had my thyroid checked and it's fine. My cholesterol level is better than my doctors and I don't even have high blood pressure. In fact lat time at the docs office it was 100/69

What are your eating habits like? Are you eating six small meals a day with protein in every meal?
