My sister is the Executrix of our fathers will. When she went to the bank with his will and death certificate to get payoff information on his home she was told she would have to go through the court system before they would give her any information. Why is it that we can draw thousands of dollars out of his account but can't get the info on the payoff?

How is she able to withdraw money from your father's account? Is she named on the account?

Besides the death certificate, she needs to petition the probate court and have letters testimentary issued to her.
