A Friend in need of an answer
I have a question. I know someone who has been convicted of embezzlement, and now she has to go to court for other charges that she did. She was working at a credit union and she took money out of accounts and transferred it into one of her friends account and took the money out. They are charging her with forgery, uttering and , and two accounts of false pretense. All this is in the state of va. Does anyone know what her sentecing will be. And she has a job now working from home. If they sentence her is it possible she could get house arrest? Please help me help my friend.!

Depending on the amount of money taken she will probably get a few months in jail, a stiff fine, and at least 5 years probation. At least that's what she'd get here in Ohio. Her prior criminal convictions will help or hinder her. And also it depends on the "victim" of the embezzlement and how upset and mad they are about the money stolen. There are a lot of different scenerios that could play out but again, your friend may not be able to do house arrest. Is there any way that your friend could pay the entire amount of the money taken? That may lessen the amount of jail time involved. Lots of different scenerios.

Anything is possible, but I truly doubt it, esp if she does not have an attorney and they do a plea agreement
